£90.00

Come and spend a relaxing day in beautiful surroundings, immersed in the intoxicating beauty of snowdrops exploring ways to capture the flowering stems on paper with a range of pencils, pens, inks and watercolour washes.

There will be warmup exercises and contour drawings, notes on composition and snowdrop morphology plus plenty of freshly cut flowers to sketch from with lots of hints, tips and guidance along the way.

Date: Thurs 5th Feb 2026
Time: 10 am - 4pm

Location : Old Trecastle Farm, Pen-y-Clawdd, Monmouth, NP25 4BW

What 3 Words : wallet.vines.factored

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served from 9.45 am.

We will start the day looking at snowdrop morphology and some different ways these lovely flowers have been depicted in art to get inspired.

Then we’ll do some warm up exercises and contour drawings before trying out a range of mediums, making annotated notes as we go.

We will discuss composition, how to create a collage and have the opportunity to create 3D forms out of wire and ribbon. There will be plenty of potted and cut snowdrops to sketch from. There is no fixed formula, the day is all about immersing ourselves in the beauty of snowdrops and exploring different ways to capture their form, with time to spend on individual work in the afternoon, finishing the day with tea and cakes.

What To Bring
We will provide everyone with a range of art materials and paper, but please feel free to bring along any of your own equipment that you may wish to use. Please bring outdoor boots and warm coats if you wish to see Kristy’s garden.
